Our botanical energy patterns are created by using a technique known as eco printing / bundle dyeing.

It is a natural printing process that uses botanical dyes found in: leaves, dried or fresh flowers, herbs, some food waste and natural dye extracts.

Lisa uses bundle dyeing to create this unique pattern using red onion skins, rose leaves together with cutch and madder extract sprinkles.

The best size to choose depends on how much you like your clothes to drape. Model in picture is a size 10 and is wearing a size small.

SMALL  Length 96cm  Waist 71cm / 28″

MEDIUM Length 98cm Waist 76cm / 30″

LARGE  Length 98cm Waist 81cm / 32″

These sizes are measured when the trousers are laid flat. Due to elasticated waist this size is flexible depending on how you like to wear this style of trousers. I am a 10 and wear a small for example.

These pants are made to order – please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.

Once we receive your order we will get in touch to confirm delivery and also check your inseam measurement so that we get them just right for you.

Each piece begins by the fabric first being scoured (cleaned so that the dye takes well)  then it is passed to Daniela – who sews them onto the trouser style. Lisa then mordants the trouser by soaking it in alum lactate ( this is a substance derived from the uk sugar industry) by mordanting the fabric it helps it become colourfast and allows it to hold onto the colour once dyed. A day later once the mordant has done its  job Lisa can lay the trousers out and cover them with the red onion skins, cutch, madder and rose leaves. They then get rolled up tightly and tied like a swiss roll and steamed for one hour or so to bind the botanical inks into the fabric. They are then allowed to cool. Once cool they have all the botanical leaves and skins shaken off, rinsed in cold water and then washed at 30 degrees in the washing machine to confirm colourfastness.

This process is made with a lot of love and care. Each pair of trousers will have the same pattern tones but will be a tiny bit different due to the random way these eco printed patterns are made.
