When you shop for your clothes, do you take a look at the fabric content of what you’re buying first? Buying certified organic cotton over conventional cotton is one of the most sustainable swaps that you can make in your closet.
If you’re someone who thinks about where your garment comes from, you may have wondered about just how the cotton you wear is grown, harvested, and turned into the fabric hanging in your closet or folded in your drawer. After all, cotton is a crop that farmers harvest from the earth… does that not mean that it is always going to be a natural material? Doesn’t natural mean good for the earth? Well it turns out that there are a lot of harmful practices in conventional cotton production that create a big difference between ‘natural’ cotton and organic cotton.

It’s BIG GREEN WEEK! For me - This week is all

It’s BIG GREEN WEEK!
For me - This week is all about packing up the Indigowares to set off for the @planted_community event down in Stourhead
(Wiltshire) running from 9 - 11 June in partnership with the National Trust. Planted Country will showcase more than 60 nature-focused lifestyle brands and seasonal food producers.
There’s also a nine-part Planted Uneathed talks programme titled 'Cool design, sustainable futures', presented by Oliver Heath and Sam Peters, which will explore how spaces, places and systems can be designed to mitigate against the twin threat of climate heating and biodiversity decline.
VERVE Festival pop-up in the cottage garden will run wellness workshops, from guided meditation, breathwork, yoga to gong baths and more. On the Kitchen Garden Stage an array of demonstrations will take place from cooking over fire to no-dig gardening, fragrance, mushroom and fermentation workshops.
You’ll find us in the Botanical market with lots of other planet friendly focused makers and brands.
You can book tickets in advance through the @planted_community website.
Plus a newly curated children's programme with nature trails, craft demonstrations and practical workshops will aim to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental advocates. Because it’s THE BIG GREEN WEEK -
