And - Here are some ideas to help reduce water use for you -
Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth! - I tell my kids that daily.
If you have a garden - get some water butts to catch the rain 💦 water off the roof.
Fix your leaky taps and pipes.
Take 2 minute showers! - I think I’ll need to practice getting down to those 2 minutes.

Here’s the story-
Kantha is a style of stitching found in Indian embroidery that we use in our jackets. Originally found in Bangladesh, Bengal, Odisha and Tripura. Although there are similar styles of this stitch found all over India.
Classically created by stacking old saris onto each other and hand stitching them together using a simple running stitch to make a thin cushioned layer. Traditionally Bengali women layered together old discarded clothing with the simple kantha (running stitch) style stitching to make a bedspread or bed cushion, repurposing the old into something useful and protective. First and foremost created to add an extra layer of warmth making them perfect to up-cycle into a jacket.

I refer to indigo dyeing as magical on a pretty regular basis, and the plant itself is no exception. Bugs hate it, it doesn’t need any fertiliser, it doesn’t need copious amounts of watering (which cuts back on excessive water usage) and it puts back nitrogen into the soul. When it comes to sustainability, it is easy to see why indigo pigment is great for the environment.
