Description

Beginners Shibori pattern making textile courses

Textile workshops offer you the chance to be inspired to design and make your own hand-dyed shibori creative textiles in a one session.

Take a look at the workshops that took place this summer here…

This sort of workshop is a great get together where you can meet new people and enjoy the process of making pattern using a traditional Japanese process. Shibori textile classes are a great  workshop because you can arrive knowing nothing and leave with arms full of beautiful indigo and shibori textiles.

This workshop runs from 1-4pm

Location – Wheathampstead,  Hertfordshire. AL4 8NY

Please wear old clothing and shoes that you won’t mind getting splashed on with indigo. An apron is a good extra layer too and a pair of rubber gloves.

We provide everything, including one long silk or cotton scarf, but please feel free to also bring anything you’d like to dye and up cycle (cotton, linen, hemp, silk, white denim etc – just make sure it has had a good wash to encourage good indigo uptake).

Unlock the textile designer within you.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interesting and creative workshop. Lisa made us feel very welcome, was patient with my curiosity about the process (and with my creative ability – or lack of it!) and obviously very passionate about her products. A really great afternoon and I’m delighted with my creations! Thank you Lisa.

My friend and I had a fantastic day with Lisa. She is a great teacher, enthusiastic about her subject as well as being very knowledgeable.
Lisa was very generous with her time and materials and really inspired us to do more.
I would certainly attend another course and have no hesitation in recommending to anyone wanting to learn about Indigo dying and the Shibori technique.

An absolutely brilliant course. Well explained and lovely to be able to come home with some indigo-dyed garments and fabric. The other people on the course were so friendly and incredibly talented and were supportive and helpful as I had a humdinger of a headache on the day!
I would certainly like to join the ‘Indigo club’ if Lisa is able to get it started.
    Thanks for a great afternoon

I came away totally enthused by this workshop and I’ve been looking around the house ever since for anything white and for objects to act as resistors so that I can carry on with my new found Shibori love and obsession. I have a selection of books on my Christmas list and a dyeing kit has just arrived from Amazon! Thanks for such an inspiring afternoon Lisa. I’m not the most artistic individual but I came away from the session feeling like a master craftsman. My ‘artwork’ has astounded my friends and family. I lost count of the number of times I’ve said “yes, I did this.” If you’re intrigued about natural dyeing and Shibori, I thoroughly recommend attending this fun and informative, practical workshop. Beware – it’s very addictive!
